Pennsylvania Taxes
The personal income tax is levied against the taxable income of resident and nonresident individuals, estates and trusts, partnerships, S corporations, business trusts and limited liability companies that are not taxed as corporations for federal purposes.
The rate for the 2008 tax year was 3.07% and anyone who earns $34 or more must file a PA Income Tax (PIT) return.
An interesting fact to note is the PA Income Tax (PIT) is an individual tax. Although married couples are permitted to file one return, the tax on the income reported is for EACH individual.
