It
is very exciting to be involved with the recruitment, retention,
and
professional development of the next generation of agricultural professionals.
These
young students, through their scholarship and presentations, are helping
to change the traditional perceptions of agricultural sciences. We
are
more than you think.

Enriching
Your Undergraduate Experience
First-year
SeminarPreparing for Academic Success
To help students succeed, our faculty developed a course called Be
A Master Student! All first-year students take this course, which covers
critical
thinking, study skills, time management, and issues in agricultural
sciences.
Youll find out how to use computer databases and other University
resources, work in groups, and get help from teachers and advisers.
You also can develop contacts with outstanding faculty who are committed
to
undergraduate education.
International
Experience and Study Abroad
Penn State offers approximately 40 International Education programs throughout
the world. For example, Agribusiness Management students can earn credits
while studying at Kiel University in Germany. You can also complete an
internship in another country or in a firm with international markets.
The International Agriculture minor enables you to augment your major
with course work on international issues and the global market, drawing
on the expertise of faculty members who have visited and worked in countries
throughout the world.
Agriculture is a global industry, and our graduates can find rewarding
careers with international firms or agencies that sponsor projects abroad.
Undergraduate
Research
You can get involved in research in nearly any area of faculty expertise
and interest, getting experience in both laboratory and field research.
Research topics in the agricultural sciences are very diverse, ranging
from biotechnology to geographic information systems (GIS) to wildlife
ecology.
