Leadership Development - Minor

The Leadership Development minor is developed for students wanting to supplement their academic major with studies in leadership development. The minor consists of a minimum of 18 credits, at least 3 of which are an internship experience. This minor provides students with a fundamental concept of leadership development and expands in three related dimensions: (1) Leadership Styles, (2) Ethical and Moral Dimensions of Leadership, and (3) Global Perspective. This minor may be combined with any major in the University.

Requirements
The following four courses are required of all students completing this minor:

AEE 360—Leadership for Small Groups
AEE 311—Developing Professional Leadership
AEE 460—Foundations of Leadership Development
AEE 495D—Internship (Note: There are multiple internships in AEE but the “D” will always be for “leadership” students.)

In addition, students must select 6 additional credits from one of the following support areas:

Procedures for Enrollment
Students may apply for admission by submitting an Application for Admission to a Minor form in 331 Agricultural Administration Building. Approval of the student’s major program adviser is also required. For additional information, contact the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, at 814-863-7850.
