Wildlife Society The Penn State Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society is nationally recognized and welcomes all students interested in wildlife, natural science, and the environment. The society coordinates field trips, educational workshops, and service projects that appeal to a variety of student interests. The club also hosts guest speakers on topics such as wildlife biology, conservation, management, and outdoor recreation. The Wildlife Society strives to combine opportunities for professional development, community service, and recreation with the ultimate goal of increasing the interest and education of members in wildlife topics. Activities have included visits to Pennsylvania’s elk herd, environmental education seminars, assisting the Pennsylvania Game Commission with bear and deer check stations, habitat restoration projects, birdwatching trips, herpetology trips, owl banding, and a radiotelemetry seminar, just to name a few. The club has hosted professionals from groups such as the Game Commission, the Ruffed Grouse Society, and USDA Wildlife Services. Members also have the chance to attend state and national conferences and to compete at the annual TWS Quiz Bowl. Students in all majors welcome. For more information, please contact:
