ALPHIA OMICRON CHAPTER
SCHOLARSHIP and LOANS COMMITTEE REPORT

The committee reviewed applications and has selected the following recipients for 2008:

Pa Alpha Omicron Chapter Forgivable Loan - $500

  • Jan Scholl, State Specialist, 4-H Family & Consumer Sciences - Jan plans to take a course, History of Women in the Professions, 1800 to Present at Cornell University, and to conduct research about the earliest FCS educator in the U.S. Time period:  January to June, 2009.

Pa Joint Council of Epsilon Sigma Phi (JCEP) Professional Development Scholarship - $400

  • Andrew Frankenfield, Montgomery County - Andrew is working to complete 12 credits of coursework needed for a Masters of Business Administration in Food and Agribusiness from Delaware Valley College. Time period:  January to December 2009.

The Administrative Leadership Scholarship is for first time attendee of the National ESP meeting.  National gives up to four, $500 awards each year.  No applications were received this year.

The committee would like to encourage more members to apply for the scholarship and loan awards. Anyone working toward a graduate degree or enrolling in a professional development opportunity should be applying.   The application and criteria can be found on the website:  http://www.cas.psu.edu/docs/casprof/esp/Awards/Chapter.htm.  Please encourage your co-workers to apply next year.
