Milano Foods, Inc. - Leaders in the Tomato Sauce Business
In 1974, Don Good and eight other investors purchased a number of small vegetable farms in southwestern Ohio. They also purchased Milano Foods, Inc., a small tomato processor. Within five years, Milano Foods had become a supplier of tomato-related products to Ohio and neighboring states.
As the years went by, Milano developed innovative sauce varieties that were marketed under the Milano brand, as well as other brands for retail and food service customers These included numerous varieties of pizza, spaghetti, hot sauce and salsa, as well as regular tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, purees and many other related products.
Milano's special attention to quality, product innovation and technological change, coupled with a very successful employee profit sharing program, has made them leaders in the highly competitive sauce sector of the tomato business.
