PEELED POTATOES - PART I

Tom Dolson was reviewing the previous week's sales figures when Donald Mays walked in looking like a kid with a new toy. Donald said "peeled potatoes," smiled and sat down. Amused at Donald's childlike enthusiasm, Tom asked: "What about peeled potatoes?"

"Listen, Tom, I think that this could be a terrific idea. Just think about this huge market that could unfold before you. Who does not eat potatoes in this country?! I know that the first company to sell peeled potatoes is going to make it big. You already found the way to extend shelf life on many vegetables products. I think you guys have a great team. I think you can really pull it off. Give it some thought."

Tom immediately shared Donald's excitement about this new product possibility. Dolson FP's atmosphere thrived with confidence after — as portrayed in the press — having recently introduced a series of new fresh products using innovative technology that put them ahead of the pack and helped them achieve national recognition. This was easy compared to the challenges they had faced with their other recently-introduced products. Tom thought peeled potatoes shouldn't take very long to get into the marketplace.
