51st Annual Penn State Mushroom Industry Conference
September 20-22, 2009
Avondale, Pennsylvania

The results are in— the 51st Annual Penn State Mushroom Industry Conference was a grand success! For the first time in the 50-year history of this Penn State tradition, the conference was held in the heart of the U.S. mushroom industry, at Hartefeld National in Avondale, Pennsylvania.

The Penn State conference attracted more than 200 participants from throughout the U.S. as well as Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hungary, Poland, The Netherlands, and United Kingdom, setting a new record high attendance dating back 10 years. Based on the results of the conference questionnaire, an overwhelmingly majority (92%) of the respondents enjoyed having the conference held in the center of the mushroom industry.

In response to an expressed interest in the conference presentations, the speakers' Powerpoints are being made available below.

The Penn State conference organizing committee would like to express its sincere appreciation to the sponsors, exhibitors, tour hosts, industry organizers, Mushroom Council, American Mushroom Institute, speakers, moderators, and participants for contributing to the success of the 51st conference— thank you one and all!
