The insect module is divided into four sections:
grnarrow.gif (337 bytes) Problem diagnosis
grnarrow.gif (337 bytes) Pre-season planning
grnarrow.gif (337 bytes) Within season management
grnarrow.gif (337 bytes) Scouting procedures

The problem diagnosis pathway allows a farmer or ag-service person to identify the most likely insect causing injury to a corn field. Once the most likely insect pest is determined, a user can leave the system if satisfied with the diagnosis, ask for background information, or proceed to management information. Background information includes general information, insect distribution, the insect's life cycle, a description of the insect's life stages along with pictures of the insect, types of damage caused, scouting procedures, and control tactics. Scouting procedures can be acquired directly from the main menu in the Insect Management Module or within the diagnosis, within season management, or pre-season planning sections. Methodology for scouting fields for most insect pests is described in detail and diagrams and pictures are provided for most insects.
